Two-time GRAMMY Nominee, electronic musician
& underground darling Carmen Rizzo, is a frequent fixture in album
credits as a producer, mixer, remixer, musician, and co-writer for a wide
range of influential artists including Seal, Coldplay, Alanis Morissette,
Paul Oakenfold, BT, Tiesto, Jem, Esthero, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Cirque du
Soleil, KD Lang, and Pete Townshend of The Who, the mention a few.
-Did some writing for my new album while I was in Vancouver. , and started to record when I returned getting two songs close to being done. I am very excited! July will be more writing for my new album and preparing for some upcoming Lal Meri shows in LA and my trip to Russia performing with Huun Huur Tu. -Just found out some of our Niyaz music will be in this season's HBO show True Blood. -July 14th the Huun Huur Tu/ Carmen Rizzo album will be out on my own Electrofone Music label. The album turned out to be a collaboration between us. I am very proud of this album. Huun-Huur-Tu Is a world music act from the mysterious land of Tannu Tuva in Siberia. There past collaborations are with Ry Cooder, Kronos Quartet& Frank Zappa. This album is unlike any other there past recordings. Other remixers were Bombay Dub Orchestra. -I have been spending much of the spring setting up my new music label Electrofone Music (www.electrofone.com) The first artist is Inbar Bakal which I produced . She is Iraqi, Yemenite, born a raised in Israel. It is a beautiful middle eastern album blended with electronics. Already getting support and airplay from KCRW, KEXP & KPFK. It was the #1 most added World Music album to CMJ when it came out (5/12/). AR was on the top 100 list. Other performs for the VIP party were John Legend. Guest included Michelle Obama, Ophra WInfrey, Barbara Walters, Arianna Huffington, Stella McCartney to mention a few. Secret Service was in full effect! -In April I flew to Las Vegas (on a private jet!) where I did a show at The Hard Rock Hotel (The Joint) with AR Rahman who was also on the bill playing for the Digidesign party. Paul McCartney played the same club the night before. -I just uploaded a cool new music video of my song "Falling into place" from Nick Fox-Gieg . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Niyaz- As a co founder of Niyaz with Azam Ali, Loga Ramin Torkian, we have done 2 albums for Six Degrees records, both debuting #1 on Itunes World Music chart. We have toured the world ranging from India, Turkey all of Europe, Japan, Canada, Mexico and America. We have been featured on NPR's Day to Day , PRI and Voice of America. The project something I am very proud of. I have decided to not tour with the band anymore and just make the music and records.Film & TV: -Recently completed another film for Oscar winning director Michael Apted this time a short film called "Party Guest". The full length I did was called "The Power of the Game". (Pathe) -David Blaine has asked me personally to compose music for his new ABC special Dive of Death which aired on September 24 2008 on ABC TV. I wrote the opening music which has Laurence Fishburne reciting poetry as well as having 4 songs from my current album being used as well. -West Indian Girl- The current remix album "4Th on the floor" I remixed "To live & die in LA" -Lal Meri-"Bad Things" I did a a down tempo /cinematic remix & Morgan Page did a slamming club mix -Carmen Rizzo-Ornament of an imposter remixed I recently did the score of two films from acclaimed British Oscar winning director Michael Apted for the film “Power of the Game" (Pathe) and a short film called “Party guest”. -Recently worked on the film "Year One" starring Jack Black with composer Theodore “Teddy” Shapiro (Tropic Thunder/Marley & Me) doing some electronic programming . Video Games:I scored my first video game last year with Gerard Marino for Sony called The Agency 2010 release.

One night is a premiere of Vladimir Martynov's (he's one of the most prominent contemporary composers in Russia) composition "Children of the Otter" based on the motives of HHT music and using famous Russian poet Velimir Khlebnikov's (early 20th century) poetry. The composition will be performed by Huun Huur Tu and a famous Moscow chamber orchestra for contemporary music Opus Posth. The other night will be a concert with Huun Huur Tu, Carmen Rizzo, live strings with Mark Governor and live visuals. It will be amazing!
